Laboratory
We maintain in house laboratories for both research and development, creating new products, and a quality control Lab to ensure all products produced meet specification required. We can custom formulate to your specifications with one of our formulas or produce using a formula that you have developed. Full analytical and QC testing is performed on all products produced, product retains kept and lots tracked. A Certificate of Analysis is provided as required.
Regulatory Measures: Labeling and Product SDS
Frequent changes in government regulations and standards can sometimes lead to confusion and costly fines or penalties if not thoroughly understood and followed. We maintain the experience and knowledge to assist with the process and give you the peace of mind that your product is being handled in accordance with current regulations.
To ensure proper storage, handling and transportation, a chemical product SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is provided with each product. For our toll manufacturing clients, these forms can be completed listing CP Industries Ltd as the producer/supplier or with your own company information. Specifics about Product SDS format and content can be reviewed during the toll blending agreement process.
Our lab will provide custom Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) labeling for each order. These labels can be generated based on your individual needs and informational requirements to meet local and national regulations.
The regulatory team at CP Industries Ltd constantly monitors updates and changes by regulatory bodies in order to keep abreast of all local, national and international changes to policy or procedures to ensure that each order meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements.
Drug Identification Number (DIN)
Where required we will make application to Health Canada for a Drug Identification Number (DIN). A Drug Identification Number (DIN) is a computer-generated eight digit number assigned by Health Canada to any product defined as a drug prior to being marketed in Canada. Disinfectants for instance require a pre-market assessment and assignment of a drug identification number (DIN) prior to being sold in Canada.
Natural Product Number (NPN)
Once Health Canada has assessed a product and decided it is safe, effective and of high quality, it issues a product licence along with an eight-digit Natural Product Number (NPN). This is required for certain products that come in contact with the body. Hand sanitizers for instance must be registered with an NPN to be sold in Canada. CP Industries Ltd can assist with these applications, providing information required to Health Canada.
